Postscript in "Tell No Secrets"
When I wrote "Tell No Secrets" I had some fairly fixed ideas about how I would promote the book. These were included in the postscript of the book. The main way mentioned was booksignings followed by "Meet Marion get-togethers." These did not attract the audience I had hoped. My current method is to write to the welfare agencies and relevant community groups in the areas I am going to, offering myself as a speaker to groups. This worked very well in Mackay, Qld, where I spoke four times to groups at Pathways, the local foster care agency, and twice at Lifeline. I am happy to speak to informal groups as well - perhaps a few people who are interested in abuse issues.
